Marc Stephens, MPS Studios vice president of operations, has been elected as Vice President of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance, one of the state’s top professional organizations for members of the production community.

Joining Marc on the newly-elected TXMPA board of directors are Susan Fowler (president); Robin Read (secretary); Erica Shamley (treasurer); Trish Avery; Steve Belsky; Larry Cashion; Jeff Evans; Philip Hadage; Angela McClure, Bill Schwarz; and John Schrimpf. Endorsements for Marc’s board campaign mentioned his “drive, passion and knowledge of the entertainment industry” and his “unquestioning dedication to the Texas moving image community.”

MPS’s affiliation with TXMPA dates to that organization’s 2006 inception, when MPS executives aligned with other Texas production community members to form a strategic advocacy effort to encourage a flourishing film, TV and digital production industry in our state. Since that formation, TXMPA has realized a number of significant accomplishments, most notably the creation of the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, which provides favorable tax benefits for eligible productions based in Texas.

“I believe strongly that our TXMPA leadership should be comprised of stakeholders with the widest breadth of perspective possible, fueled by a sense of urgency and commitment to build our incentive program into the strongest, most extensible program yet,” he said.  “I’ll bring the perspective of my 30 years of experience in this industry and the two decades I’ve served on governance boards and councils at a local, national and international levels to my work for TXMPA.”
