Shot on ARRI ALEXA with Master Prime lenses, the campaign entitled “Obsession Has Its Place” is the a brainchild of TM Advertising. The nine spots play on the notion that people who work in advertising tend to be obsessed with their industry.

MPS Studios Dallas provided the entire camera department for a series of shorts produced for the 2012 Dallas Addy Awards, presented by the Dallas Advertising League, held earlier this month.

Shot on ARRI ALEXA with Master Prime lenses, the campaign entitled “Obsession Has Its Place” is the a brainchild of TM Advertising. The nine spots play on the notion that people who work in advertising tend to be obsessed with their industry.

TM Advertising approached Liberal Media with nine comedic concepts, expecting to pair down the task to a handful that would then be produced. But Liberal Media Films’ director Jeremy Bartel was so drawn to the creative that he decided to produce all of them.  Each concept explores an aspect of the advertising business with reappearing characters including the producer, copywriter and art director.    A client’s ongoing changes lead to a temper tantrum in the conference room. A steamy shower proves to be the perfect canvas for an art director.  And the art director tells his son, “Keep this up, and you’re gonna be a copywriter.”

Liberal Media producer Jessica Cramer reached out to MPS Studios Dallas for camera support. “When we were tasked with the ADDY’s production, we immediately called MPS Studios,” she said. “Meredith, Mark and Brad jumped on board without thinking twice and that’s why we love those guys.  We couldn’t have done this project without them.”

MPS Studios Dallas provided an ARRI ALEXA with Master Prime and Zeiss Marco lenses.
