Meet The MPS Crew: Phoebe Waldron

Phoebe enjoying some of her favorite things at Flitch Coffee in Austin

Meet Phoebe Waldron, Office Admin at MPS Austin! When she’s not fielding phone calls or hunting down meet the crew questionnaires ;), she’s exploring the Austin coffee scene and wishing she had a time turner like in Harry Potter.

1. How did you get your start with MPS and how long have you been with the company?
I started as an MPS “dayplayer” back in August and came on full time in November. Before that I sort of knew the Austin crew through my work in casting. I used to wave to Gema from across the (AFS) red building.

2. When you’re not at MPS, where can we find you? i.e. How do you recharge?
I like to write, read, and see local comedy and theater. I have terrible anxiety, but I like pushing myself to do scary things like improv (sometimes). I also like taking photos on film (I would love to build my own darkroom someday) and checking out new coffee shops.

3. What’s your favorite piece of equipment to work with?
I don’t work hands-on with the equipment, but I’m smitten with the idea of shooting a little something with the Canon C300. My favorite tool I actually work with on a daily basis is my computer. I’m teaching myself graphic design, and it’s what I use to do my favorite parts of my job. I like scrolling back through articles and posts I’ve written about people in the local filmmaking community. It’s especially fun when I get to promote filmmakers that I already geek out about.

4. If we were to hop onto your music playlist, what would we see you were listening to most recently?
Bill Callahan, Sylvan Esso, and Chance the Rapper. I also like podcasts– particularly Scriptnotes and Fresh Air with Terry Gross.

5. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I’d like to be able to slow down time. I always wish I could fit more into a day.
